New
clothes leave you cold? Don't quite “get” the
styles of today?
Is
there even a distinct style of today, do you feel? In
your opinion, you're much more comfortable in the styles
of yesteryear.
If thrift and vintage clothes are
a passion of yours, then you've got to check out what is
disposed of in the shops of New York. How
far back do you want to go? The 20s? The 40s? Flapper clothes?
30s satin dresses? Zoot suits?
Maybe you're a bit more recent. How
about vintage 70s Prada or Gucci? Are you such a clothes
horse that you can recognize designers by era? Then this
would be the tour for you. If you are seriously into vintage
wear, then you can't miss this one.
But be forewarned — the “thrift”
shops of New York charge a pretty penny. You won't find
any $2 bargains here. Designer clothes of yesterday can
sell for $50 up into the hundreds in these stores. This
is not a bargain tour, so be forewarned to bring
plenty of spending money on this tour for your fabulous
finds!
