How long do tours last?
They are four hours long, unless otherwise noted or pre-arranged.
One-on-one shopping tours are four
hours long. Should we run over, and the client wishes to continue,
an additional fee of $100/hour may be paid in cash. If a group
tour is shopping
for clothes and they want to continue, whoever wants to leave
and go back to the hotel is permitted to do so and those who want
to stay on can pay the fee and keep going.
What should we wear or bring for a tour?
First
and foremost: it cannot be emphasized enough how important it is
to be comfortable on your feet! We STRONGLY advise AGAINST wearing
heels, ladies! New York city blocks are long and after one block
in 4-inch stilettos, your face is going to look like a torture
victim in a vice. How are you going to shop lucidly if you are
agonizing over your feet? We know you want to swan around in your
new Jimmy Choo's but we suggest you save them for cocktail hour,
when you're comfortably seated. To shop, wear something stylish
but very comfortable. In the winter, we suggest you wear a coat
that you feel comfortable taking off and on or checking at the
coat check. In spring, wear a light town coat.
How will we get around the city?
That depends
on the client. We strongly recommend hiring a town car for individuals
and small groups. For large groups, we can hire a luxury
tour van; having these cuts down on wasted time on the subway, although,
the subway is always available if your prefer. However, laden
down with a lot of shopping bags, it is very inconvenient. Booking
a car or van is an available option when you book and pay for
your tour date.
How do I know which tour is for me?
What are your needs? What are your interests? What are your passions?
We have very diverse tours, from food to clothes to music. A
lot of people book one and then come back for a different one
with a friend. Our tours do change over time as shops come and
go. The tour of this year will probably be different next year.
Can I give a tour as a gift?
Absolutely! Many a happy and delighted wife has been given a shopping
tour as a birthday, anniversary or valentine gift.
And they work equally well for giving your husband; for instance,
a cigar or wine tour.
We welcome clients giving tours as gifts and
will send you a special gift card to
present. We can't think of a nicer or more interesting
gift! |

What
is the Gotta Have It! Club?
It is an annual membership shopper's club that entitles
you to one tour a month or twelve tours in a year, for a membership fee, plus
NY state tax. Members are privy to private, specially-designed tours, promotions,
giveaways and our annual Members Gala at special venues in the city.
Do we stop to eat on tour?
That depends on the tour. On food tours (Food
Lovers, Jewish
Food & Culture, Indian
Safari, Asian
Adventure, Cheese Addicts),
definitely YES!! We encourage it, in fact. With one-on-one shopping
tours, not really but it depends on
the client. If the client is adamant that we NOT go over four
hours, then time is limited and we don't want you to waste your
time stopping to eat unless you, the client, insist and don't
mind time being taken up that way. So come to the tour having
eaten a hearty, stick-to-your-ribs breakfast and be ready to
Shop! Shop! Shop! For clothes shopping, we want to cram in as
many stores as possible in our allotted time. Yes, we can pause
for a quick muffin and a cappuccino but we recommend eating it
on the run, so to speak! For group shopping, the group dictates
if we stop to eat and drink or not. We can recommend places to
stop for a quick cocktail and 15 minutes for a flute of champagne
while having fun with the girls never hurts.
Do Gotta Have It! clients receive any discounts?
No, we are not a discount tour shopping service. While Gotta
Have It! Club members do receive promos and discounts
at times, our regular clients do not.
Is Gotta Have It! responsible if
I do not spend any money or I do not find what I was looking
for or had in mind?
No, Gotta Have It! Tours is responsible only for bringing you on
the tour of your choice. Whether you spend money or purchase
anything is your business. We cannot control what people have in
stores and we cannot be responsible for your spending habits. We
guarantee you a tour: rain, snow or sleet. |
